the switch
I've built through multiple careers across more than two decades, each one sharpening a different skill that now feeds into AI systems design. I started as an English teacher at West High School (Denver) advocating for at-risk youth, then moved into college advising and counseling. Each role taught me to understand people deeply, break complex problems into steps, and design experiences around real needs. Those are the same instincts I bring to designing systems where humans and AI work together.
the founder
I founded CyclusBreak (LLC & 501c3) to close equity gaps in college access for underrepresented students. I secured a $150K NSF SBIR Phase 1 grant as Principal Investigator, led a team of 5 across research, design, and engineering, and authored 388 weeks of curriculum. That experience taught me how to scope complex systems, coordinate across disciplines, and ship products that serve real users at scale.
the why
AI systems design appeals to me because it demands everything I've built across my career: specification precision, understanding how people actually behave, evaluating whether a system is delivering real value, and architecting context so the right information reaches the right agent at the right time. I don't come from engineering. I come from designing for humans, and that perspective is what makes AI systems actually work.

I'm looking for a team building AI-native products where my background in systems design, evaluation, and human-centered thinking makes the work better. I bring 20+ years of career experience, a shipped agentic system with paying customers, and the ability to sit between users, models, and product teams to make sure what gets built actually serves people.
